This Can't End Well.............

Not a pleasant entry...But I'm just keeping it real....Never say "what else can go wrong ", or this truck could show up in your driveway...When will I learn ....We noticed our "little stinky problem" about a month ago, and we've been hoping and praying that it magically disappears and our neighbor's don't organize a linch mob against us. With my beloved saying this shouldn't happen to a three year old house, my response to him was...Tell it to the neighbors, because not only is the odor outside bad, but it's starting to back up in the house...THIS IS NOT GOOD.

The guy was super nice and gave us all the different scenarios that could be causing the problem, worse case scenario, $2000.00......Guess which scenario we were.......The septic tank was not properly installed and our builder shouldn't have gotten a permit to begin with..

After watching this poor fella almost fall, and knee deep in the stuff that nightmares are made of, plus the heat and humidity on top of the stench... I have realized that people who work for a septic tank company are extremely under paid......

I have decided that if I can blog about a septic tank........I can blog about anything.

SURPRISE.....

Finally party pictures....Took awhile for everyone to cough over their goods(photos)....I only hope everyone will talk to me after they see this...(Remember: I LOVE YOU FRIENDS)

The birthday party/luau was a big success, he didn't suspect a thing until he pulled into the drive way...I loved all of our decorations and I'm sure that they will be displayed nicely in my next yard sale.......Cheap........Our granddaughter met him at the door with hugs and kisses and one great big Aloha Papa!

All our kids and friends were here and it really made turning sixty a lot better...
We laughed a lot and we all needed that, we caught up on all the goings on in each others life and even managed to gossip a little bit too...

And we ate way too much...

But it was delicious...I mean some good eatin....Barbecue Pork, Potato Salad, Baked Beans and Cheese Biscuit's, followed by our daughters sinful cupcakes and homemade strawberry and peach ice cream....
I had plenty of photo ops with this group....

And when it came time to give the limbo a try....It was hilarious.....

Of course there were a few cowards ( I hide behind my camera, but we needed a photographer..That's my story). Every one started out pretty flexible but each time the pole was lowered the stiffer people got...

And some thought there were safety in numbers........

I have a feeling that the chiropractor's office was pretty busy Monday morning (or at least a lot of ibuprofen was taken)....What is it about the Banana Boat song that makes people think they can bend.......

It was so much fun getting together with this wonderful bunch of people that we love so much...
If you want to have a good time, this is the group to do it with....I'll be glad to book em for your next party...Our motto: Will entertain for good food and the Banana Boat Song.......DAY-O.

Summer Fun Continues..........

After countless hours of Disney and Nickelodeon, with naked Barbies and Polly Pockets running loose in every corner of the house ...We could be on the edge of a Nuclear Holocaust and if Hannah Montana didn't talk about it...I wouldn't have a clue...And I'm afraid I'm starting to find the Jonas Brothers "Hot", (pretty sure I dreamed about Nick Jonas last night)..........How do they(seven yr olds) spend that much time in front of a television.....When I was little we played outside all day in the summer and our imagination's ran wild. Today kids have Nintendo to keep them occupied....And 3-D chalk...Do you Believe 3-D chalk...Of course I can't complain about my little princess, she did go to the garden early one morning with me to pick beans (Still in her Jonas Brothers Nightgown...

Guaranteed to make you have sweet dreams....So I'm told). Then as we watched to 100th episode of Hannah Montana she helped me string and break the beans, while telling me about her future plans to live in Hollywood at the ripe age of 13...

She wants to marry Joe Jonas, sing and be on Dancing with the Stars.......Maybe her imagination is wild enough.

What Makes A Good Grammie and the ramblings of a seven year old............

We've had our granddaughter for a few days of "Summer Fun" as she calls it, and that pretty much means a week of getting everything you want, with a never ending supply of cookies and chips and dip......We were watching the 100th episode of Hannah Montana when she told me what made me a good Grammie....Out of the mouths of babes, here we go......

1.I have a kind smile

2. I am pretty to look at (some kids Grammies aren't very pretty) Thank you sweetheart!

3. I smell really nice (Again, Thank you sweetheart)

4. I don't snore

5. I will play barbies with her

6. I let her watch Disney Channel and Nickelodeon as much as she wants

7. I buy all her favorite foods and let her stay up as long as she wants (I'm not the disciplinarian, No is not in vocabulary)

8. I give the best hugs and kisses (I love this one)

9. I'm not too old and smelly "yet"(direct quote)Apparently she knows something I don't...

10. I can polish nails as good as the Chinese women

And yes, I am aware that this little seven year old is a scam artist...After all she got eight dollars for one tooth....Or maybe I'm just a sucker for a pretty face.....

Special Tooth Fairies!...

Did you know that when a grandchild looses a tooth while staying at their grandparents house a special Tooth Fairy comes......Neither did I....Apparently God made special Tooth Fairies that live near Papa and Grammies houses... And they live up in the trees with the angels...They also pay MORE per tooth....Here's a direct quote, "Like if the Tooth Fairy at mamma's house gives me two dollars then the tooth fairy that lives at Grammies house will give me four, because that's how god wants it to be". Well, I'm not arguing with God or the Tooth Fairy.....So she got eight dollars..... And yes I do remember when I got a nickel from the tooth fairy, but I never lost a tooth while staying with my grandmothers.....Wish I would have known about this special fairy back then.....

Help Please!!!...

It's true..I am committing one of the seven deadly sins and I can't stop... Gluttony has taken over and I am wallowing in my own sugar and greasy misery....Want to know what I had for supper???? Fried Green Tomatoes, Fried Squash and Fried Okra....

Does it help that I grilled some chicken........NO.....Because, later I will have some cupcakes and homemade ice cream left over from the birthday party from Saturday night....If I don't have a heart attack first I might try to get on the treadmill before bed.....or have another cupcake....which ever comes first....

The party was great..I'll post pictures soon.

It's Here!!!

Today is finally here....Surprise Birthday Party Day!!!! Since he's been depressed lately, I didn't have the heart to do the typical Over The Hill Party....So, we are having a Luau...Were even doing the limbo...And at our age I should probably call up some of my paramedic friends to be on standby.....Can't wait to share the pictures.....Because, NO ONE IS SAFE FROM THE BLOG....Friends and family beware...

Surely Not!...

Surely I wasn't the one who said in an earlier post that our garden brought me peace, love, and happiness or something like that...Well, after being bent over and picking beans and fighting mosquitoes in the Georgia heat and humidity for hours...All that love and peace is more like blah,blah,blah,blah,blah.....Then comes the stringing and breaking.....

Then they are off to my beautiful pressure cooker...It was a anniversary gift from my beloved, besides nothing says FOREVER like a stainless steel pressure cooker...

Right... I'm sure all you ladies have one ( I guess they were all out of SHOES). Anyway, first few quarts down several more too go....I may not have horses and cow to take pictures of....But I have PRODUCE.........

On My Soapbox...

Today, I was reading a great post from Mikki at, The View From My Beach Chair ( she's awesome, you should check her out) and what she wrote struck a nerve...She was posting about what matters most...and more so...who matters most, and talking about the death of Michael Jackson....That got me thinking about my own opinion on the "Kings" death...And about how enough is enough...I mean Farrah died after a long and painful bout with cancer and she got swept under the rug...Please don't get me wrong..I was a fan of his in the early days, I know all the words to Billie Jean and I liked Thriller and when the news showed a clip of his little girl breaking down at his funeral, it brought me to tears....But when people camped out by the thousands to view his funeral processions , people fighting and passing out...come on...And an overflow area was held for people who wouldn't fit into the Staples Center(which had 1.6 million people register for tickets) it made me think just....WHO ARE WE IDOLIZING??? How many people would camp out for a funeral procession of a fallen solider....One who had been defending our country so we can sleep safely at night...Or so we can go into a grocery store and buy food for our family without the fear of a suicide boomer...These brave men and women spend months and sometimes years away from their families for us...For our FREEDOM.....And then some one who was possibly using a drug like propofol to sleep, gets round the clock media coverage (I said possibly). Why are we not honoring these men and women every day...

Please watch this video, this was on our local news, following a local fallen solider from the funeral to the grave side...This took place through several counties and towns.....It is very powerful....And I will try to get off my soapbox now........

Showdown at the OK Corral.....

Or better known as the bird feeder....The gang was back in full force today...It would seem that my dear friend Moe, thinks he's pretty smart...and getting fatter by the day. This morning, Moe was trying to teach his little posse of rodents how to break into the bird feeder.....And I decided to introduce him to the sheriff of the palace...ME...Let the staring begin... It started from the porch all the way down to the yard, I swear this little fur ball was grinning at me....He wasn't budging and neither was I...When I got within two feet of the feeder he shot me a look that was pure evil...

But his posse had left him high and dry ( I think the birds ganged up on them ). When he saw he was all alone he finally left...but not to far away..

At least I showed him who was boss....For a while anyway....

Somethings in the air........

Today was a wonderful rainy day in Georgia and we needed it, perfect for sitting on the back porch...And catching some entertainment of the natural kind....And let me tell you, the animals were putting on a show....I'm not sure if they were enjoying the rain or just went nuts because of it....First off a robin kept running off the hummingbird's from their feeders...Never seen them do that before, finally the hummingbird's won the fight...

We have several bird feeders in our yard and enjoy watching what ever bird comes along to get a snack, but this morning was a little different....These four buddies showed up and took over one of our "squirrel proof" feeders and the show that took place, was nothing short of the stooges...They all gathered around the feeder and were eating what the birds had dropped on the ground, but apparently the leader of the pack, Moe, wasn't satisfied with this... A small conversation between the group of buddies then took place... Moe decided to climbed up the tree on top of the feeder and take a look around...This happened several times...It's what happened next that is the surprise ...

Moe had figured out a way to hold the feeder down with one leg and eat seeds while drooping seeds to his friends below ....

This made Curly a little nervous, peering from behind a tree as if to say, "Are you sure about this". Larry didn't care , it was every squirrel for himself...

Little Shemp, whom we are certain is digging a hole to China and starting under our house, was just happy to be part of the gang again, who had been beating him up earlier...Who ever thinks squirrel's aren't smart, I have three and a chipmunk I would be glad to ship to your neighbourhood....

Quickly...Before the foundation of my house falls in and I need to buy more bird seed....Any takers...

From My Home to Your's.....

"Where Liberty dwells, There is my country"...

HAVE A WONDERFUL AND SAFE 4th OF JULY!

A short, strange, true and somewhat Patriotic tell by Moi....

Once upon a time I took a trip to a strange and mystical land far, far away from the sanity of the south, to a place filled with many bright lights and gorgeous people. Where different languages were spoken on every corner and beautiful shoes and purses were abundant....I was overwhelmed and in heaven...This mystical land was called Manhattan....A sea of people on every corner and they were all on a mission...I just don't know what that was, because some of them looked intense and a little terrifying...

There were little yellow cars with lots of cussing and yelling, and upon getting out of them I felt the urge to vomit and thank God all at the same time....

The night life was amazing because people never slept, with places like Soho, Broadway and Chinatown....Did I mention the beautiful shoes and purses....
Beauty all around that hypnotized this southern girl and drew her in like a drug...I was hooked.

With places full of wonderful history and museums all around, I just knew I could stay here forever...Soon I was getting thirsty it was time for some refreshment's....Sweet Tea anyone?...
After hours and hours of searching high and low all I was offered was something called Snapple and Unsweetened Tea....."SHOCKING"....In my land if there isn't one and a half to two cups of sugar added to that golden brewed nectar it's not fit for man nor beast....All of the sudden I was thirsty and confused...I knew my stay was coming to an end...I had one more thing to do before leaving this great city, I needed to visit the lady in the harbor....

As I drew closer to her, her grace and beauty brought tears to my eyes....She was the most magnificent women that I had ever seen....The very sight of her was powerful...In her mighty hands was a document, and written on it was the date of our Independence's....I stood in awe......What an honor to see her in this beautiful city...

On my travels to this great metropolis I learned many things like, Never purchase a purse from a street vendor....You will end up with something called a CoGucci...That's what happens when Coach and Gucci mate....I think....Always risk your life and go to the darken alleys and hidden corners for quality knockoffs....And never, ever go to this place without paying respect to the lady in the harbor....

I know, crazy, just plain stupid and full of ellipsis (my crazy dots) but I can't write without them, kinda like trying to talk with your hand tied behind your back (can't do that either) but what can I say it's me........See here's more dots

Have a great 4th of July Y'all!!!!

One Sad Puppy......

All day long my beloved has looked like this poor little sad puppy...Why you ask..today is his birthday and it's a big one, the big 60 to be exact, that's right, Mr. Sexy Calf's and Thighs himself....And no one is making a big deal out of it...The kids called to wish him a happy birthday and I have done the same, we even enjoyed a quite dinner and a movie....But no close friends have called to harass him or want to make plans for dinner, and that has got him DOWN...Like I have never seen before. You gotta understand one thing about my husband....He is not vain...So when I see him like this it breaks my heart... Some of our friends were out of town this weekend because of the holiday, So what he doesn't know is I have planned him a big SURPRISE party next weekend, our family will be here along with good friends and some that we haven't seen in a long time...I hope I can pull it off, I will stay strong as long as I don't look at those sad eyes.....What a heart breaker.....I thought only women took birthdays this hard......Wish me luck...
