A Special Gift

There are gifts you get at Christmas that you always remember, but this little gift here I will hold dear until my memory leaves me.... It was made special for ME... Her Mom didn't get one and her other Grandmother didn't get one....JUST ME...... each page is special, one is scented with cinnamon one has a stocking with a candy cane and one has a fluffy beard of white. Little hands made it with me in mind, when her mom told me that she could only make one and had to pick one person to give it to, tears came to my eyes.....

I still have every gift Chas made for me growing up and I remember how wonderful they made me feel.....Little gifts made with lots and lots of love.....THAT'S THE BEST KIND OF GIFT

Santa came to Papa and Grammie's

Santa made it..... and one little girl was very relieved,
she must have been very, very good this year because Santa brought her a bike and an electric scooter plus more stuff than her dad could carry home....
I believe Santa felt sorry for her because of all the teeth she has missing (and besides, you should always get more presents when your the best hugger in the world )

Christmas Wishes

Dear Santa,

All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth......That's right, she lost them both at the same time....The joys of being six....But still adorable, I think Santa will give her some extra presents for her troubles..............

Christmas Memories Part 3

This Christmas memory is so twisted and soooo wrong, and was so fun and it's all about my Daddy....

For years my dad has teased me about wanting a blow up doll for his birthday, fathers day, Christmas etc. The reason being... WELL, YOU CAN USE YOUR IMAGINATION..... so, being the kind of daughter that I am ( and obviously not having any morels ) Santa thought that my dad had been good enough for a Jenna Jameson look- a- like (WHATEVER ). Anatomically correct I might add......WHICH BLEW MY DADS MIND......my brother Robert, bought him a can of Repair and a pump in case there was a accident....... Silence filled the room when my dad met Jenna, the smell of pine was replaced by a horrible stench of vinyl....My Mother cringed......My dad broke out in a cold sweat......

DADDY HASN'T ASKED ME FOR ANYTHING LIKE THAT SINCE........

Christmas Memories Part Deux

My best Christmas gift came along in 1982, and keeping her out of the presents was and still is a challenge.... I was looking for a unique casual picture to post, and as I was looking through all her pictures, I found the same sneaky grin and the same sneaky pose in over twenty six pictures ..... Over the years I have had to hide and watch every present that ever came into the house....she has been known to open a present while I was in another room, and then blame it on someone else ( she was an only child ).

True Blood ( SEVEN MONTHS ...REALLY...)

Its over......the season finale came, and now I will have to wait until next summer for Bill's next bite...........this will be hard....what we learned...Sam is a dog (literally),Rene is a serial killer(or shall I say was ), Tara has taken up with a psychopath not really sure what she is yet person, Lafayette is missing probably dead. Bill risked his undead life and went out in the sun to try to save Sookie ( I love Bill ) Bill was a little crispy after this, but he recovered and reclaimed his human love Sookie. The thing about this show is, no one is safe..... truth be told I probably need a brake from Bill, but seven months...c'mon HBO.......GIVE A MIDDLE AGE WOMAN A BREAK...

Christmas Memories Part 1

I love Christmas.....it is my most favorite holiday, always has been and I hope it always will be...I have some very magical memories of the season, not all were because of the amount of money spent but because they were spent with family during difficult times. Since we are getting close to Christmas, I thought I would share a few of mine with you over the next few days or so. I grew up rather poor so it didn't take much to knock you off your feet, like the year my daddy broke his leg and couldn't work in the mines, my parents barely bought food for us that winter, but somehow Santa came and that Easy Bake Oven is still my most treasured gift ( we found out they bought our gifts at an auction ). My Grandmother used to spend Christmas eve with us, and would have just as much fun watching us open stuff as she did. she would clap her hands and scream and laugh a pair of colorful socks. She passed when I was twelve at Christmas time, and I can only hope I have some of her Christmas spirit running around in me. Start the season off right, no matter how dysfunctional your family is, its what god blessed you with. You never know, one day you might look back and find that a broken leg or pair of socks, will fill your heart with the fondest memories.....

Sweetness

I remember the day she was born, everyone at work called me Aunt Angie , it was wonderful... I always wanted to be a Aunt, not just any ole Aunt but a cool one at that. One that buys you just the right gifts and tells you the coolest stories, one that you want to hangout with. I don't know if I was ever any of those things to Anna, but when I saw her in her wedding dress I was so filled with pride and happiness for her. It is an honor to have family to love. People should cherish them in all there dysfunction(and my family has a bunch). This was an impromptu kiss, not planned at all, the photographer just saw a perfect moment for a picture that I will cherish forever.

I love being a Aunt

Baby Jordan

Check out this adorable fella, Chas and Cory baby sat for his parents ( there neighbors ) on there anniversary. Chas used to babysit him when he was a newborn, Jordan is the most lovable little fella we know. He don't walk yet he crawls or rather what I call G.I. Joe craws. I am going to try to download the video of him crawling, it's hilarious.

Simply Beautiful

When you capture a photo that's unexpected, you never know what you"ll end up with. sometimes silly, sometimes funny or sometimes perfect, just like when I came up behind my Daughter and her husband walking on a trail on a late summers afternoon, in Cades Cove TN. The trail was peaceful, quite and beautiful and it took you back in time with it. I wondered what they were talking about, maybe their love for each other or maybe the future, maybe they were simply hoping we didn't catch up anytime soon and ruin that perfect moment.....

Today, I put my hair up in a clip....it was a joyous moment for me, I think I had a tear in my eye. If you missed the story regarding my Cuban hairdresser cutting off all my wonder woman tresses, well sorry, I wont be telling it again ( it was posted before my computer crashed ) besides it makes me want to run around the house naked with something sharp in my hands..... But today was a hair clip day..... and it all stayed up in a clip.....which means it is growing......women are so vain...........TODAY WAS GREAT...................

It's that time of year

When the porches are scattered with pumpkins and scarecrows, and a little chill is in the Georgia air, that's when they start coming out of the wood work........

The clock is striking midnight
The witch her spell has cast
All fairies, ghost and goblins
Will be conjured from the past

I don't know about you, but these two scare me....

SECRET ADDICTION

There's a few things I can't do without, give me my family, sweet tea and things are great. As far as television goes, I watched two seasonal shows, Dancing with the Stars and American Idol....until now.........I am obsessed with HOB'S True Blood, I can't wait for this show to come on.This is a vampire show unlike any other I have ever seen.....Being raised in the days of Dark Shadows (see how many of you remember this one) and let's not forget that wonderful miniseries Salem's Lot. I promise you, Barnabas Collins did not look like Bill Compton, that wonderful bayou dwelling vampire of True Blood...OH MY MY.... I have to say, I love my husband very much but, there's something about this pale man that makes me want to lift my hair and turn my neck sideways..... (among other things I need to repent for)
Y'all gotta check this show out( if your into strange, weird and cute vampires ) as for Bill, I'll leave the window open..................

Family Time

We spent a long weekend, with my brother and his family not long ago. It was a wonderful dysfunctional time, one of my favorite things that we did was go into the Ripley's wax museum. My brother and Cat Woman are having a serious conversation here. I wonder if his congregation knows about this relationship...
