Three years ago I planted a piece of a cactus about 4 inches by 5 inches
on the south side of my house along with some rose bushes. Today the cactus has turned into a monster....it stands at about 4 feet by 20 feet and is taking over my beautiful roses....I had planed to cut the cactus down today, but when I went outside prepared to "Let the monster have it" with an axe, it was covered with these.....Now, I will have to come up with another plan...Something this fierce with this much beauty deserves to live........

We have these growing wild in our yard.
They are in window boxes now. Still small since the containers are small. They should be blooming their yellow flowers soon, too.
Cool! I love the cactus flowers out here in S Dakota, a beautiful bloom surrounded by big thorns.
